LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- There was no letdown for Oklahoma, but there may be a quarterback controversy. Jason White threw four touchdown passes to Trent Smith as No. 3 Oklahoma extended its winning streak to 19 games with a 38-10 Big 12 Conference win over Kansas. Playing in place an ineffective Nate Hybl, White tossed a two-yard pass to Smith 3:38 into the second quarter and a 12-yarder later in the period to make it 17-3. The 6-2 sophomore completed 18-of-29 passes for 151 yards and was intercepted twice. He also ran 12 times for a career-high 117 yards as Oklahoma improved to 30-14-3 all-time against Kansas. The Sooners (6-0, 3-0 Big 12 South) were coming off a 14-3 win over then-No. 5 Texas and host Baylor next week before a showdown at fourth-ranked Nebraska on October 27. Kansas (2-3, 1-2 North), which has not defeated a ranked team since a 33-17 win over Colorado in 1998, took a 3-0 lead when freshman Johnny Beck kicked a 37-yard field goal with 7:08 left in the first quarter. But the Jayhawks were held to 118 yards in the first half and did not score again until Mario Kinsey tossed a 77-yard touchdown pass to Roger Ross with 4:58 left in the fourth quarter. Hybl, who suffered a shoulder injury against Texas, completed just 5-of-11 passes for 15 yards before White came in with 2:32 to go in the first quarter. The Sooners extended their streak of consecutive games with a turnover to 20 as they recovered three of Kansas' five fumbles and intercepted Kinsey once. Oklahoma failed to capitalize on linebacker Brandon Moore's fumble recovery at the Kansas 11 in the final minute of the first quarter. White was called for intentional grounding on third down and safety Jamarei Bryant blocked Tim Duncan's 34-yard field goal attempt as Kansas recovered at its own 2. The Sooners stopped Reggie Duncan on two rushes and Kinsey threw an incomplete pass before Curtis Fagan returned a punt 18 yards to set up Smith's first score. White directed a seven-play, 60-yard drive that culminated with Smith's 12-yard TD for a 17-3 advantage with 8:21 left in the first half. White was intercepted and fumbled on Oklahoma's first two possessions of the second half, but he had a 35-yard completion to running back Renaldo Works before Smith's nine-yard reception pushed the lead to 24-3 with just under seven minutes to go in the third quarter. Smith's final score was an eight-yard reception that capped a nine-play, 84-yard drive 5:33 into the fourth and made it 31-3. On Oklahoma's next possession, Works carried five straight times, going nine yards for a TD with 6:38 left.
