LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Ticker) -- After back-to-back losses to Southeastern Conference powers, Louisiana State finally had something to cheer about -- barely. Rohan Davey tossed a six-yard touchdown pass to Michael Clayton with 13 seconds remaining as LSU rallied for a 29-25 victory over Kentucky. The touchdown spoiled an inspired comeback for the Wildcats (1-5, 0-4 SEC East), who appeared to be in position for their first conference win after erasing a 22-10 halftime deficit. Backup Jared Lorenzen threw a 31-yard TD pass to Aaron Boone with 4:16 left in the third quarter, then gave the Wildcats a 25-22 lead by finding Derek Abney for a 23-yard TD with 8:28 left in the contest. But Davey drove the Tigers (3-2, 1-2 East) 80 yards in 12 plays in the final three minutes. Davey completed 27-of-38 for a career-high 383 yards and two interceptions for LSU, which was coming off losses to Tennessee and Florida. He also threw a nine-yard TD pass to Clayton that gave LSU a 19-3 lead with eight minutes remaining in the first half. Shane Boyd completed 17-of-31 for 140 yards and two interceptions for Kentucky before being replaced by Lorenzen, who was 6-of-11 for 145 yards. LaBrandon Toefield rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries for the Tigers after being held to just 40 last week. Kentucky closed to 19-10 on Boyd's three-yard TD run with 3:23 left in the first half. John Corbello kicked a 46-yard field goal just over two minutes later to give LSU its 22-10 halftime advantage.
