OXFORD, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Eli Manning tossed a three-yard touchdown pass to Joe Gunn with 46 seconds left to cap a 13-point fourth-quarter comeback as Mississippi downed Alabama, 27-24, in a Southeastern Conference contest. Manning drove the Rebels (4-1, 2-1 SEC West) 59 yards in eight plays before hitting Gunn with the winning score. Mississippi beat the Crimson Tide for just the eighth time in 50 meetings (8-39-2) and snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Crimson Tide. The Rebels trailed, 24-14, after three quarters, but Charles Stackhouse scored on a 19-yard run with 9:24 remaining to begin the comeback. The extra point failed. Manning completed 22-of-41 passing for 325 yards with no interceptions and one touchdown. The sophomore now has thrown a touchdown in each of his last six games, two behind the school record held by his father, Archie. The Tide (2-2, 3-3) scored first as Ahmaad Galloway finished off a 12-play, 86-yard drive with a six-yard scoring run. Ole Miss came back in the second quarter on a one-yard scoring plunge by Toward Sanford and a 25-yard run by Gunn. Tyler Watts ran for 110 yards and threw for 136 yards and two scores for Alabama, including a 58-yard strike to Sam Collins and a 10-yard strike to Triandos Luke that gave the Tide their 10-point lead with 7:55 remaining in the third. Chris Collins caught eight passes for 110 yards for the Rebels, who started 4-1 for the fourth straight season.
