LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- Joe Haro rushed for 136 yards on 23 carries as Nevada-Las Vegas cruised to a 31-3 Mountain West Conference victory over San Diego State. With Haro leading the way, the Rebels (2-4, 1-1 MVC) outrushed San Diego State, 274-39, and recorded all their points in the first half. UNLV has won two straight after opening the season with four straight losses. Jason Thomas opened the scoring with an eight-yard TD pass to DeJhow Mandley just over three minutes into the contest and added an eight-yard TD run that made it 24-3 with 1:09 left in the second quarter. UNLV forced a punt and Troy Mason returned it 52 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the half. Thomas completed 10-of-17 passes for 133 yards and an interception and rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries. The Aztecs (2-4, 1-1) were held to just 160 total yards and got their only points on Tommy Kirovski's 34-yard field goal with 9:14 left in the first quarter. Adam Hall completed just 7-of-15 for 51 yards and backup Lon Sheriff was 7-of-13 for 70 yards. The Rebels took a 6-5 lead in the all-time series.
