SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Lance Rice threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns as Utah scored 21 points in the second quarter en route to a 35-0 Mountain West Conference victory over Wyoming. After a scoreless first period, Rice threw a 44-yard TD pass to Cliff Russell to give Utah (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West) a 7-0 lead with 14:14 left in the first half. Nearly four minutes later, Adam Tate capped a 55-yard drive with a one-yard TD run. Rice finished a 10-play, 78-yard march with a 13-yard TD strike to Devin Houston that made it 21-0 with three minutes left in the half. The Utes completed the scoring in the third quarter on Rice's eight-yard TD pass to Josh Lyman and Tate's one-yard TD run. Wyoming's Casey Bramlet completed 15-of-29 passes, but threw for only 80 yards. Bramlet, who entered the game averaging a conference-best 292 yards passing per game, was replaced late in the contest by J.J. Raterink. The Cowboys (2-5, 0-4 MWC) have lost 11 straight conference games since a 1999 victory over New Mexico.
