PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Pittsburgh became the latest team to rout hapless Rutgers as David Priestley passed for 307 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-0 Big East Conference victory. Priestley, who completed 17-of-25 passes, threw all his touchdowns in the first half, when the Panthers (4-5, 3-3) Big East) did all their damage. Three of the TDs were to Antonio Bryant, who had scoring grabs of nine, 13 and 28 yards. Bryant finished with five receptions for 107 yards. Rutgers (2-7, 0-6) has been outscored 122-7 in its last two games. The Scarlet Knights suffered an embarrassing 80-7 setback at West Virginia last week. Rutgers' defense blanked Pittsburgh in the second half Saturday but it hardly mattered with the contest out of reach. Priestley tossed TD passes of nine yards to Antonio Bryant and 21 yards to R.J. Lewis to stake the Panthers to a 14-0 first-quarter lead. Pittsburgh poured it on with 28 points in the second period. Priestley capped the scoring with a 10-yard TD run with 1:32 remaining in the half. Raymond Kirkley rushed for 85 yards on 16 carries for the Panthers, including a 35-yard TD run. Ryan Cubit completed just 9-of-22 passes for 56 yards for the Scarlet Knights, who were outgained, 484-112. Pittsburgh has won three straight, keeping alive hopes of a winning season.
