WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- Oklahoma State allowed more than 500 yards to Baylor, but its defensive backfield was instrumental in setting up the Cowboys' first Big 12 Conference win of the season. Despite being outgained, 517-323, and controlling the ball for just over 24 minutes, Oklahoma State parlayed four interceptions into a 38-22 victory. The first one came just minutes into the contest when Bears wideout Reggie Newhouse juggled Greg Cicero's pass. As he struggled to make the catch, Cowboys cornerback Darrent Williams raced 20 yards to give Oklahoma State a 7-0 lead with 12:27 remaining in the opening quarter. Cicero capped an eight-play, 60-yard drive with a one-yard TD run that tied the game, 7-7, with 9:31 left in the first period. But Cicero completed just 8-of-12 passes for 85 yards and was intercepted three times -- twice by Williams and once by Kirk Milligan. Milligan's interception led to Oklahoma State's next TD, which put the Cowboys ahead for good. With Baylor driving deep into Cowboys' territory, Milligan picked off a pass that sailed well over Aaron Fuller's head. Four minutes later, backup quarterback Josh Fields connected with with Rashaun Woods' on a 24-yard TD as time ran out in the first. Fields came in late in the first when Aso Fogi suffered a left leg injury. He finished 10-of-18 and threw for 161 yards. Luke Phillips kicked a 35-yard field goal with 10:03 to go in the second before another interception resulted in a touchdown. Williams' 85-yard return made it 24-7 4:52 before halftime. Baylor drove into Oklahoma State territory in the third period in an attempt to close within 10 points. But Milligan intercepted Davon Vinson's pass and five plays later, Tatum Bell's six-yard run put away the game. John Lewis' caught a 39-yard pass from Fields for Oklahoma State's final points. Lewis finished with seven catches for 131 yards. Aaron Karas, the third quarterback of the day, fared the best for Baylor. He came in late in the third and completed 14-of-22 passes for 195 yards while directing two fourth-quarter scoring drives. Baylor extended its Big 12 losing streak to 29 games. Its last conference victory came on October 10, 1998 against Kansas.
