LAWRENCE, Kansas (Ticker) -- Ennis Haywood rushed for 185 yards and four touchdowns as Iowa State coasted to a 49-7 Big 12 Conference victory over Kansas. Haywood, who carried 35 times, scored on runs of one, six, 13 and four yards in the first half, helping the Cyclones build a 28-0 halftime lead. Haywood raised his season total to 1,098 yards, becoming the seventh Iowa State back with a pair of 1,000-yard seasons. Iowa State (6-4, 4-4 Big 12 North) snapped a three-game losing streak and hosts Iowa in its regular-season finale next week. Kansas (2-8, 1-7) closed to 28-7 on Mario Kinsey's nine-yard TD pass to Byron Gasaway in the third quarter, but Iowa State answered on Seneca Wallace's six-yard TD pass to Lane Danielson. Joe Woodley made it 42-7 on a one-yard TD run before the Cyclones completed the scoring on linebacker Matt Word's 36-yard interception return. Wallace completed just 5-of-15 passes for 89 yards and an interception for the Cyclones, who outgained the Jayhawks on the ground, 320-85. Kinsey was just 8-of-17 for 90 yards and threw four interceptions for Kansas, which suffered its sixth straight loss and second since Tom Hayes took over for the fired Terry Allen as coach. Iowa State defeated Kansas for just the third time in the last 11 meetings. The Jayhawks lead the all-time series, 43-32-6.
