EVANSTON, Illinois (Ticker) -- Josh Harris' five-yard touchdown pass to Robert Redd and Cole Magner's conversion run with 36 seconds remaining capped a 29-point fourth quarter as Bowling Green stunned fading Northwestern, 43-42. Harris engineered four scoring drives in the final quarter, including two in the final 3 1/2 minutes, as the Falcons rallied from a 28-14 deficit to improve to 7-3. The sophomore drove Bowling Green 78 yards on nine plays in just 59 seconds for the winning score. Instead of playing for overtime, the Falcons went for the win and Magner scored on the conversion run to give Bowling Green its only lead. Northwestern (4-6) suffered its fifth straight loss and was eliminated from bowl consideration. The Wildcats have allowed 158 points in their last three games. Northwestern seemed to be in control when Torri Stuckey scored on a three-yard run to make it 42-28 with 3:44 remaining. But Bowling Green answered just 74 seconds later on Harris' three-yard TD run, then cashed in again after recovering an onside kick. Northwestern's Zak Kustok carried 29 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns, including a four-yard scamper that gave the Wildcats a 28-14 lead midway through the third quarter. Kustok also completed 26-of-39 passes for 421 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. The teams combined for than 1,200 total yards with Northwestern gaining 624 yards and Bowling Green 618. Harris completed 30-of-47 for 402 yards and three touchdowns. The Falcons had a pair of 100-yard receivers. Redd grabbed 12 receptions for 168 yards and David Bautista caught 10 passes for 155 yards. Bowling Green, which is still in contention for the Mid-American Conference championship game, has clinched its first winning season since 1994. The Falcons were just 2-9 last year.
