CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Ken Simonton rushed for 154 yards and Jonathan Smith passed for 281 and three touchdowns as Oregon State won consecutive games for the first time this season, 45-10, over Division I-AA Northern Arizona.

Simonton was touted as a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate, but has been inconsistent throughout the year, failing to post consecutive 100-yard rushing games until this week. But he had his second-best game of the season against Northern Arizona.

Simonton scored Oregon's second touchdown, helping the Beavers (5-5) race to a 38-0 lead midway through the third quarter.

It did not take long for Smith to get going as he engineered a three-play, 71-yard drive that culminated in a 56-yard TD pass to Seth Trimmer just 81 seconds into the contest.

Following Simonton's score, Oregon State picked apart Northern Arizona's defens, scoring on Stephen Jackson's six-yard run and Smith's 42-yard pass to James Newson.

Kirk Yliniemi's 21-yard field goal made it 31-0 at halftime and Smith found Newson for a 31-yard TD in the third period.

Northern Arizona (8-3) finally scored with 4:28 left in the third on Roy Holmes' eight-yard fumble return, but Oregon State answered on Stephen Jackson's 89-yard kickoff return for a touychdown that made it 45-7.

Preston Parsons completed 11-of-25 passes for 93 yards for the Lumberjacks, who recorded only 218 yards of total offense in their worst game of the season.
