STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Larry Johnson scored three touchdowns and had 117 all-purpose yards as resurgent Penn State kept alive its bowl hopes with a 28-14 Big Ten Conference victory over Indiana.

Johnson scored on runs of five and two yards and caught a 37-yard touchdown toss from Matt Seneca as the Nittany Lions registered the final 21 points of the contest to improve their record to 4-5 (3-4 Big Ten).

Penn State has won four of its last five games after starting 0-4 and can become bowl eligible by winning its final two contests against Michigan State and Virginia. Both games are on the road Indiana (3-6, 3-4) was paced by Antwaan Randle El, who completed 12-of-24 passes for 225 yards and ran 24 times for 141 yards and a touchdown. The Hoosiers outgained the Nittany Lions, 523-450.

With Penn State down 14-7, Johnson capped a four-play, 80-yard drive with his five-yard TD run with 7:09 remaining in the second quarter. He also scored with 4:34 left in the third quarter and added his third touchdown 1:17 into the fourth.

The Hoosiers were blanked over the final 39-plus minutes of the contest and were eliminated from bowl consideration.

Penn State improved to 7-0 all-time against Indiana in a series that began in 1993.
