PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- William Green returned from a one-gane suspension to run for 213 yards and a touchdown as Boston College extended Rutgers' misery with a 38-7 Big East Conference win over the Scarlet Knights.

Green sat out last week's 18-7 loss to Miami for a rules violation, a game in in which the Eagles came close to upsetting the Hurricanes.

The Eagles (7-3, 4-2) had no trouble with Rutgers, building a 28-0 lead one minute into the second quarter on a one-yard TD run by Green, who carried 31 times.

Brian St. Pierre also had a big game for Boston College, throwing three touchdown passes in the first quarter. St. Pierre completed scoring strikes of 40 yards to Keith Hemmings, four yards to Dedrick Dewalt and 25 yards to Jamal Burke.

Pierre completed 11-of-23 passes for 162 yards.

It was yet another lopsided loss for Rutgers (2-9, 0-8), whose season will end Friday when it hosts currently winless California. Rutgers had lost its last two games by a combined score of 122-7.

Ryan Cubit of the Scarlet Knights completed just 7-of-20 passes for 95 yards and was sacked seven times.

The only score for Rutgers was a 70-yard interception return by Natahn Jones in the second quarter.

Derrick Knight, who filled in for Green last week, had a one-yard TD run in the third quarter. Sandro Sciortino kicked a 39-yard field goal earlier in the period.
