HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Jeff Kelly threw for a career-high 400 yards and three touchdowns as Southern Mississippi continued its dominance over Tulane with a 59-6 rout in a Conference USA matchup. Kelly completed 23-of-31 passes and moved into second place on the school's all-time passing yards list with 6,465. He also moved into third on the total yardage list as the Golden Eagles racked up 512 yards of offense and defeated Tulane for the seventh time in eight meetings. Southern Mississippi (5-3, 3-2 C-USA) is 9-3 all-time against the Green Wave in Hattiesburg. Kelly wasted no time attacking Tulane and started the rout with a 38-yard touchdown pass to Dewayne Woods just 3:05 into the game. He also ran for a tocuhdown from one-yard out less than eight minutes later for a 14-0 advantage. James Walley capped a scoring drive with a one-yard run with 53 seconds left in the first as the Golden Eagles built a 21-0 lead and cruised to their second straight win. Kelly reached Rocky Harrison on a 56-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter and threw a 16-yard score to Orlando Dantzler with 12:42 left in the third. LeRoy Handy was Kelly's favorite target, catching five passes for 100 yards. Tulane (3-9, 1-5) managed just 325 yards and committed three turnovers in its final game of the season. Mewelde Moore extended his school and conference single-season rushing record to 1,421 with 128 yards on 20 carries. He recorded his seventh consecuitive 100-yard game. Patrick Ramsey completed 19-of-33 passes for 170 yards and was intercepted twice for the Green Wave, who lost four of their last five games.
