MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (Ticker) -- Cap Poklemba kicked his third field goal of the game, a 35-yarder with 9:58 remaining, as Temple snapped a 10-game losing streak against West Virginia with a 17-14 Big East Conference victory.

Poklemba's kick capped a six-play, 36-yard drive and atoned for an earlier 45-yard miss. He also converted from 33 yards in the first quarter and 30 yards in the third to help Temple (3-7, 2-5 Big East) defeat West Virginia for the first time since 1984.

Tanardo Sharps rushed for 172 yards on 22 carries and Lester Trammer scored on a two-yard run for the Owls, whose last road win in the series was a 38-16 triumph in 1979.

Avon Cobourne carried 22 times for 103 yards and quarterback Rasheed Marshall passed for one touchdown and ran for another for the slumping Mountaineers (3-7, 1-5), who have lost six of their last seven games.

For the first time in five games, Temple scored first, taking a 3-0 lead on Poklemba's 33-yard field goal early in the opening quarter.

Marshall hit A.J. Nastasi for a 23-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter and West Virginia took a 7-3 lead into the locker room.

But Poklemba was good from 30 yards and Trammer's touchdown put the Owls back on top, 14-7 heading into the final period. Marshall's four-yard keeper capped a 65-yard drive and tied it with 12:41 to play.

Marshall completed 16-of-32 passes for 128 yards with a TD and two interceptions. He also rushed for 95 yards on 11 attempts.
