STARKVILLE, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Dontae Walker rushed for two second-half touchdowns as Mississippi State captured the "Egg Bowl" by rallying for a 36-28 victory over intrastate and Southeastern Conference rival Mississippi. Enduring a disappointing season, the Bulldogs got one of their most satisfying wins of the campaign, rallying from a 21-12 second-half deficit. After John Marlin kicked a 32-yard field goal midway through the third quarter, Walker put the Bulldogs ahead for good with 1:52 left in the quarter, scoring on an eight-yard run that provided a 22-21 lead. Walker also scored on a one-yard run early in the third quarter. The junior running back, who carried 20 times for 79 yards, also had a one-yard TD run in the opening quarter. Ray Ray Bivines ran seven yards for a TD with 5:27 left in the fourth quarter, helping the Bulldogs open a 36-21 cushion. Dicenzo Miller rushed for 120 yards to lead Mississippi State (3-7, 2-6 SEC West), which still trails the all-time series against Mississippi, 55-37-7. Joe Gunn carried 28 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns for the Rebels (6-4, 3-4), who close their season next Saturday at home against Vanderbilt. Eli Manning struggled for Ole Miss, completing 16-of-36 passes for 213 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
