COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Ticker) -- Keith Boyea tossed a 19-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Runyon with 4:25 remaining as shorthanded Air Force rallied for a 38-27 victory over Utah. The Falcons (6-6) played without 12 players who were suspended for curfew violations following last week's loss at Hawaii. Utah (7-4), which is headed to the Las Vegas Bowl, took a 37-31 lead on Adam Tate's three-yard TD run with 8:43 left in the fourth quarter. But linebacker Marchello Graddy's first career interception set up a three-play, 16-yard drive for the Falcons, who finished at .500. Air Force seemed to be in control, taking a 31-14 lead on Boyea's three-yard TD run with 12:32 remaining in the third quarter. The Utes responded with 23 unanswered points. Boyea rushed for 110 yards on 19 carries while completing just 4-of-7 passes for 35 yards. He finished the year with 1,106 rushing yards, seventh on Air Force's all-time list. Air Force overcame a spectacular effort by Dameon Hunter, who rushed for 226 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Hunter closed the regular season with 1,396 yards. Utah rallied behind a punishing ground attack that churned our 382 yards. Tate also surpassed the century with 140 yards and two scored on 26 carries. The Utes held a 543-274 edge in total yards. Lance Rice completed 12-of-21 for 161 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Air Force, which was eliminated from bowl consideration last week.
