EAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) -- T.J. Duckett rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns, and wideout Charles Rogers accounted for three scores as Michigan State became bowl eligible with a 55-7 victory over Missouri. Jeff Smoker passed for 317 yards and two scores for the Spartans (6-5), who snapped a three-game losing streak and put themselves in line for a possible trip to the Silicon Valley Bowl in San Jose, California on New Year's Eve. Duckett jumped from eighth to sixth in rushing TDs at Michigan State, scoring on runs of nine, one and four yards. He carried the ball 25 times and helped the Spartans to a 639-241 advantage in total yards. Rogers caught a 32-yard TD pass in the second quarter and a 27-yarder in the fourth around a 20-yard touchdown run -- his only rushing attempt of the game. He finished with seven receptions for 168 yards. The Spartans scored 17 points on their first three possessions and had touchdowns on four straight touches, bridging the halves to open a 45-0 lead. Their final score was a TD pass from backup quarterback Damon Dowdell to Rogers, which made it 55-0 with 12:06 to play. The Tigers (4-7) managed only a two-yard touchdown run by quarterback Kirk Farmer with 48 seconds left and finished their third straight losing season. They are 11-22 the past three years. Farmer had 68 yards on just six carries but completed only 10-of-25 passes for 74 yards. Backup Darius Outlaw wasd 0-of-5 with an interception. Missouri allowed at least 34 points for the sixth time in 2001.
