OXFORD, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Eli Manning threw four second-half touchdown passes to help Mississippi rally for a 38-27 Southeastern Conference victory over Vanderbilt and snap a three-game losing streak. Ole Miss (7-4, 4-4) trailed, 20-3, midway through the third quarter. But Manning hit four different teammates for scores during a 14:24 span. He completed his third fourth-quarter comeback of the season with a 39-yard TD strike to freshman receiver Jason Armstead, giving the Rebels a 31-27 lead with 3:34 left. Manning became Ole Miss' single-season passing yardage leader on the first offensive play of the contest, breaking the record set by Stewart Partridge in 1997. He finished the regular season with 2,948 yards. Armstead led the Rebels with six catches and a season-high 91 yards. Despite recording its fifth consecutive seven-win season, Mississippi still may not receive a postseason bid as the SEC has nine bowl-eligible teams. Manning improved his school record for touchdown passes in a season to 31. The sophomore quarterback threw for 286 yards on 23-of-40 passing with three interceptions -- all in the second quarter. Manning also extended his current streak of games with a TD pass to 12, which is four more than the school mark established by his father, Archie, and matched by Romario Miller. Vanderbilt (2-9, 0-8) failed to send its coach out on a winning note as the Commodores dropped their fourth straight game. Woody Widenhofer announced his resignation three weeks ago, stating the team needed new leadership. He compiled a 15-40 record in five seasons at the helm. Greg Zolman completed 23-of-41 passes for 286 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. His 28-yard TD strike to Jason Mathenia with 10:47 left tied him with Whit Taylor atop the school's all-time list with 41 career touchdown passes. The Rebels improved their series lead against the Commodores to 42-32-2, dating to 1894. Ole Miss has won 19 of 22 all-time meetings in Oxford.
