BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) -- Freshman Yamar Washington ran for 129 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair in the fourth quarter, as Indiana rallied for a 39-29 triumph over Central Michigan.
The Hoosiers trailed, 29-16, after Mike Gruzwalski connected on a 26-yard field goal with 11:35 to go in the third quarter. But Indiana scored 23 unanswered points, taking the lead for good, 32-29, on Washington's four-yard run with 9:34 to play.
Washington added a 25-yard touchdown with 3:23 to play to conclude the scoring.
Gibran Hamdan, who was 14-of-23 for 290 yards and one interception, ran for one touchdown and passed for another for Indiana (2-2), which snapped a two-game losing streak.
Courtney Roby caught four passes for 153 yards, including a 76-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and Brian Lewis rushed 16 times for 101 yards in the win.
Derrick Vickers completed 18-of-36 attempts with two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Chippewas (3-1), who entered the contest 3-0 for the first time in 16 years.
Robbie Mixon ran for 154 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries for Central Michigan, which outgained Indiana on the ground, 263-215.
