CORVALLIS, Oregon (Ticker) -- Senior Cory Paus threw for a career-high 378 yards and Tyler Ebell rushed for 208 yards as UCLA overcame an early 14-point deficit and held on for a 43-35 Pacific-10 triumph over Oregon State.
Paus completed 24-of-32 passes, including a 24-yard touchdown toss to tight end Mike Seidman midway through the first half that cut the deficit to 14-10.
Paus, who has thrown for 1,102 yards in five games this season, moved past Tom Ramsey into second place behind Cade McNown on the Bruins' all-time passing yardage list.
Seidman notched career highs with eight catches for 132 yards and Tab Perry collected 145 yards on seven receptions.
Trailing 14-12 at halftime, UCLA (4-1, 1-0 Pac-10) completed its return from a 14-0 hole on a five-yard touchdown run by Ebell 3:36 into the third quarter.
Senior cornerback Ricky Manning, a two-time all Pac-10 first-team selection, returned an interception 33 yards to give the Bruins a 26-14 advantage.
Junior Akil Smith ran for two fourth quarter scores for UCLA, a one-yard plunge early in the period and a five-yard touchdown that gave the Bruins a 43-28 lead with 4:39 to play.
Derek Anderson hit on 16-of-41 passes with two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Beavers (4-2, 0-2), who took an early 14-0 lead on Steven Jackson's 80-yard touchdown run and an 83-yard return of a missed field goal by cornerback Dennis Weathersby.
The loss snapped Oregon State's seven-game home winning streak.
