NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- J.P. Losman tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another score as Tulane rolled to a 35-14 Conference USA victory over UAB.
With the Green Wave trailing, 14-13, and 4:16 remaining in the second quarter, Losman scored on a seven-yard run, then added a 14-yard TD pass to Mewelde Moore just 17 seconds before halftime to give his team a two-touchdown cushion.
Tulane's Sean Lucas scored the only touchdown of the second half on a 53-yard interception return with 30 seconds to play in the third quarter.
Tulane (5-3, 3-2 C-USA) knocked UAB (3-4, 2-1) from the ranks of the unbeaten in conference play and notched its first triumph in three all-time meetings with the Blazers.
UAB outgained Tulane, 292-281, but allowed Gerald Brobbey's 21-yard punt return for a touchdown late in the first quarter in addition to Lucas' defensive score.
Darrel Hackney completed 18-of-37 attempts for 194 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for the Blazers.
