EVANSTON, Illinois (Ticker) -- Brandon Jones ran for 165 yards and Joey Harris 132 yards and two touchdowns as Purdue snapped a three-game losing streak with a 42-13 Big Ten Conference rout of Northwestern.
Freshman Brandon Kirsch completed 8-of-10 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns, including a 39-yard strike to John Standeford that gave the Boilermakers a 21-0 lead eight seconds into the second quarter. Northwestern got no closer than 14 points thereafter.
The Boilermakers (4-5, 2-3 Big Ten) steamrolled the Wildcats (2-7, 0-5) on the ground, outrushing them 407-118 in ending a six-game road losing streak.
Jason Wright had 101 yards rushing and a touchdwon for Northwestern, which dropped its fifth straight contest and sixth in a row against Purdue.
Tony Struss completed 18-of-34 passes for 150 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Northwestern.
