WEST POINT, New York (Ticker) -- Darrel Hackney tossed four touchdown passes, including a 20-yarder to Willie Quinnie with eight seconds remaining, as UAB rallied to defeat winless Army, 29-26.
UAB trailed, 13-0, after one quarter and 19-7 at the half, but came back behind Hackney.
His 32-yard TD pass to Quinnie 36 seconds into the fourth quarter gave the Blazers a 22-19 lead. Army reclaimed the lead on a two-yard run by Josh Holden with 1:29 to play, but Hackney led UAB on a 10-play, 67-yard drive, which he capped with his third TD toss of the day to Quinnie.
Hackney completed 25-of-42 passes for 245 yards and one interception for UAB (4-4, 3-1 Conference USA), which won its first road contest in four tries this season. Quinnie had season highs in catches (12) and yards (159).
Zac Dahman was 14-of-27 for just 86 yards with a touchdown and interception for Army (0-8, 0-6).
Carlton Jones rushed for 86 yards and Holden added 54 and a TD for the Black Knights, who outgained the Blazers on the ground, 136-56.
UAB won despite committing a season-high four turnovers.
