TULSA, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Tulsa ended the nation's longest current losing streak at 17 games as Eric Richardson ran for 197 yards in a 20-0 Western Athletic Conference victory over Texas-El Paso.
The Golden Hurricane (1-7, 1-3) had lost their first seven games and won for the first time since defeating Division I-AA Indiana State in their season opener last season.
The victory leaves Army with the longest losing streak in the nation at eight games.
Tyler Gooch threw a pair of touchdowns and Brad DeVault kicked a pair of field goals for Tulsa, which scored 10 points in both the first and third quarters.
Gooch completed 12-of-23 passes for 97 yards and connected on a 10-yard TD pass to Mark Holata to give Tulsa a 10-0 lead. Gooch added an eight-yard TD pass to Romby Bryant in the third quarter.
DeVault kicked field goals of 39 yards in the first quarter and 27 yards in the third.
Howard Jackson carried 16 times for 69 yards for UTEP (2-6, 1-3), which was blanked for the second time this season. The Miners lost to Oklahoma, 68-0, in September.
