PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Avon Cobourne rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Rashe Marshall also ran for a score as West Virginia rolled to a 46-20 Big East Conference rout of Temple.
After getting upset by their conference rivals at home last season, the Mountaineers (6-3, 3-1 Big East) left little doubt about the result of this one, building a 33-0 halftime lead.
The conference's second all-time leading rusher, Cobourne ran for TDs of two and one yards in the first quarter. He finished with 94 yards on 29 carries.
Marshall, an all-purpose quarterback, scampered 28 yards for a TD with 5:22 left in the half, extending the lead to 33-0. Marshall rushed for 98 yards and completed 10-of-18 passes for 78 yards.
Marshall also opened the scoring early in the third quarter by recovering a fumble in the end zone.
With the game out of reach, Mike McGann passed for three touchdowns for Temple (3-6, 1-3), which had played well in suffering a 20-10 loss at No. 3 Virginia Tech last week.
McGann completed 13-of-32 passes for 180 yards, but was intercepted three times.
