BOISE, Idaho (Ticker) -- Ryan Dinwiddie was nearly perfect, completing 19-of-23 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns as Boise State remained the only unbeaten team in the Western Athletic Conference with a 49-7 drubbing of Rice.
Dinwiddie hooked up with Billy Wingfield for three of the scores, including a 17-yard strike that started the rout with four minutes left in the first period.
The Broncos (9-1, 6-0) never looked back, erupting for 28 points in the second quarter to open a 35-0 lead at the intermission. Dinwiddie threw TD passes of five and four yards to Wingfield in the period.
Wingfield finished with eight receptions for 137 yards.
Boise State stretched its winning streak to eight games and has scored at least 45 points in its last seven contests.
Brock Forsey rushed for 168 yards and three TDs for the Broncos, who held a 547-332 edge in total offense. The three scores enabled Forsey to set a single-season school mark with 17 touchdowns while extending his Boise State career record to 59.
Backup quarterback Greg Henderson got Rice (4-6, 3-4) on the board with a three-yard TD run midway through the final period.
The Owls completed only three passes. Henderson was just 1-of-9 for 32 yards, while Kyle connected on only 2-of-4 for 48 yards.
