ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (Ticker) -- Dan Orlovsky passed for 279 yards and three touchdowns as Connecticut continued its late-season surge with a 38-0 victory over Navy.
Orlovsky completed 29-of-35 passes for the Huskies (5-6), who posted their third straight victory. Connecticut completes its third season at the Division I-A level next week at Iowa State.
Terry Cauley rushed for 157 yards and a pair of scores on 32 carries for the Huskies, who raced to a 31-0 halftime lead.
Last week, Cauley tied a Division I-A record by scoring four touchdowns in the second quarter of the Huskies' 63-21 victory over Kent State.
Navy (1-9) came out flat after nearly shocking Notre Dame last week and suffered its ninth straight loss. The Midshipmen were held to 82 total yards, 35 on the ground and 47 through the air.
The Huskies opened the scoring on Orlovsky's 18-yard TD pass to Jason Williams with 9:30 left in the first quarter, then made it 14-0 just over four minutes later on Cauley's 17-yard TD scamper.
Orlovsky added TD passes of six yards to Wes Timko in the second period and two yards to Tim Lassen in the third.
Connecticut beat Navy for the first time in six meetings. Navy's five wins came in consecutive years from 1975-79.
