PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) -- Steven Jackson rushed for 230 yards and a touchdown as Oregon State used a big second half to post a 31-21 victory over Stanford in a Pac-10 Conference contest.

After Oregon State trailing by as many as 18 points, Derek Anderson connected with James Newson on a 46-yard TD pass to put the Beavers (7-4, 3-4 Pac-10) on top, 24-21, with 9:36 left in the fourth quarter.

Terrell Roberts set up the go-ahead touchdown with his second interception of the season.

Dwight Wright gave the Beavers a 10-point advantage a little less than three minutes later with a four-yard scoring run. It was set-up by a 70-yard run by Jackson, who has rushed for over 200 yards three times this season.

Anderson finished 17-of-41 for 290 yards for Oregon State, which snapped a three-game road losing streak. The Beavers also ended a seven-game Pac-10 road skid and became bowl eligible with their third win in four games.

Oregon State's Dennis Erickson coached his 200th game. He has an overall record of 143-56-1 in a 17-year coaching career at Idaho, Wyoming, Washington State, Miami and Oregon State.

Kyle Matter was 13-for-35 for 177 yards, two TDs and two interceptions and Kerry Carter ran 20 times for 80 yards and one score for Stanford (2-8, 1-6, which suffered its fourth straight loss.

Jackson gave the Beavers their first touchdown with a 58-yard run at the start of the third quarter, cutting Stanford's lead to 21-13.

Kirk Yliniemi's 23-yard field goal early in the final period pulled Oregon State within five points. He was 3-for-3 on field goals and has made 12 straight to set a Beavers record.

Stanford opened the scoring with 8:36 left in the first when Matter capped a six-play, 91-yard drive with a 49-yard pass to Luke Powell.

Yliniemi converted a 37-yard field goal to make it, 7-3, with 3:54 left in the first.

In the second, T.J. Rushing returned an interception 63 yards to Oregon State's 7-yard line. Carter scored on a one-yard run two plays later.

After Powell returned a punt 32 yards, Matter connected with Casey Moore on a 31-yard TD pass to give Stanford a 21-3 lead with 4:23 left in the period.

Yliniemi's 24-yard field goal pulled the Beavers within 21-6 at the intermission.
