NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Tulane had no problem rebounding from last week's loss at Army.
Mawelde Moore rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries as the Green Wave clinched a winning season with a 31-10 Conference USA victory over Southern Mississippi.
Army upset Tulane, 14-10, a week ago to become the last Division I-A team to record its first win of the season.
The Green Wave (7-5, 4-4) were able to put that loss behind them, never trailing against the Golden Eagles.
Tulane jumped to a 10-0 lead on Lynar Elpheage's 16-yard TD run and Seth Marler's 37-yard field goal.
Southern Mississippi (6-5, 4-3) closed to 13-10 on Curt Jones' 21-yard field goal on the final play of the first half, but the Green Wave blanked the Golden Eagles in the second half.
J.P. Losman tossed a 64-yard TD pass to Nick Narcisse early in the third quarter. After Seth Marler converted a 38-yard field goal with five minutes left in the third, Moore capped the scoring with a five-yard TD run two minutes into the final period.
Losman completed 11-of-19 passes for 165 yards for the Green Wave.
Micky D'Angelo completed 22-of-38 passes for 211 yards for the Golden Eagles, but threw a pair of interceptions and was sacked four times.
Derrick Nix paced Southern Miss on the ground with 90 yards on 19 carries.
