Joffrey Reynolds rushed four 149 yards and caught two passes - both for touchdowns - for 46 yards and Brian Robinson had five receptions for 127 yards and one TD for Houston (5-7, 3-5), which held the ball for 40:27.
Houston led, 13-3, at halftime and extended its advantage to 20-3 on a 25-yard pass from Eddy to Reynolds with 1:14 to play in the third quarter. Louisville countered with a 57-yard pass from Dave Ragone to Antoine Harris 67 seconds later but Eddy capped the scoring with a 40-yard strike to Robinson with 5:39 left in the contest.
Ragone passed for 184 yards and ran for 84 more for Louisville, which fell to 5-7 all time against the Cougars but had won the previous three meetings.
