RUSTON, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Paul Pinegar passed for 321 yards and three touchdowns and Rodney Davis rushed for 221 yards and two scores as Fresno State thrashed Western Athletic Conference foe Louisiana Tech, 45-13.
Marque Davis and Deandre Gilbert each had 133 receiving yards and a touchdown as Fresno State (8-5, 6-2 WAC) recorded its fourth straight win and fourth in a row against Louisiana Tech (4-8, 3-5).
After Luke McCown tossed a five-yard TD pass to D.J. Curry to get Tech within 14-13 with 1:43 to play before halftime, Pinegar led FSU on a six-play, 79-yard drive and capped it with a 35-yard pass to Gilbert.
Fresno State scored three touchdowns and a field goal in the second half while limiting Louisiana Tech to four punts, an interception and a fumble.
McCown completed 19-of-40 passes for 222 yards with two TDs and an interception and Joe Smith ran for 123 yards for Tech, which has lost three of four and seven of its last nine games.
Fresno State accepted an invitation to the Silicon Valley Bowl after last week's 19-16 triumph over San Jose State. The Bulldogs will play in a bowl game for a school-record fourth straight season and will face a Pac-10 Conference foe on December 31.
