UTAH 56, TEXAS EL PASO 3

Jonathan Crosswhite threw three first half touchdown passes and Utah scored early and often in a 56-3 rout over Texas El Paso in a Western Athletic Conference matchup.

Crosswhite, who completed 9-of-10 passes for 164 yards, threw touchdowns passes of three yards to Kevin Dyson and 41 and 54 yards to Daniel Jones as Utah (3-1, 2-0 WAC) raced to a 42-0 halftime lead.

Jones, who played only the first half, caught seven passes for 184 yards. He was also on the receiving end of 25-yard scoring strike from backup quarterback Darnell Arceneaux late in the second quarter.

Chris Fuamatu'Ma'Afala ran 35 yards for a score and Juan Johnsson scored from one yard out for Utah, which posted its eighth win in nine games against Texas El Paso.

Arceneaux hit Boo Bendinger with 66-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter and quarterback Scott Style connected with Matt Nickel on one-yard TD to close out the scoring for the Utes.

Texas El Paso's (0-3, 0-2) lone points came on Ricky Bishop's 33-yard field goal in the third quarter.
