LAFAYETTE, La.(AP) Rusty Smith threw for four touchdowns and Florida Atlantic rolled up a school-record 624 yards total offense in defeating Louisiana-Lafayette 51-29 Saturday night.

Smith passed for a season-high 359 yards and connected with Chris Bonner for touchdowns of 70 and 64 yards, the second coming late in the third quarter after the Ragin' Cajuns had cut the margin to 34-29 on quarterback Brad McGuire 's third touchdown run.

Florida Atlantic (2-4, 2-1 Sun Belt Conference) scored on six of its last seven possessions and ended the game with 17 unanswered points. Alfred Morris capped the scoring with a 47-yard touchdown run to finish with 181 yards.

Smith also had scoring passes of 20 yards to Lester Jean and 7 yards to James Harmon.

McGuire, who alternated with Chris Masson at quarterback for the Ragin' Cajuns (4-3, 2-1), scored on runs of 1, 9 and 10 yards.
