WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) -- Senior Miguel Maysonet rushed for a career-high 220 yards and two touchdowns, and Stony Brook dominated Army 23-3 on Saturday to notch its first victory against a Football Bowl Subdivision team.
Kyle Essington finished 11-for-15 passing for 151 yards for the Seawolves (4-1, 0-0 Big South), and Kevin Norrell added 95 receiving yards in the wire-to-wire win.
In the teams' first meeting, Stony Brook held Army to a three-and-out on the game's first series and marched 74 yards on four plays, finishing the drive with a 49-yard touchdown run by Maysonet.
The Seawolves never looked back, recovering all four Army fumbles and converting 11 of 17 third downs.
The Black Knights (0-4), who entered the game as the nation's leading rushing team, were held to 273 yards on the ground in losing their eighth consecutive game dating to last season.
A hobbled Trent Steelman started and set Army's all-time rushing record for quarterbacks with his team-high 89 yards, giving him 2,362 for his career.
Wesley Skiffington converted all three of his field goal attempts, including a 44-yarder as the first half expired, to bolster Stony Brook's offense.
The Black Knights dropped to 51-11-1 all-time against the FCS, losing to an FCS opponent for the first time since the 28-10 loss against New Hampshire in 2008 - the last time Army opened a season 0-4.
Army fell to 1-14 since 2009 when trailing at the half.
Stony Brook is 1-4 against the FBS just two weeks after putting a scare into Syracuse in a 28-17 loss.
