PALO ALTO, California (Ticker) -- Evan Moore could play football, too.
Moore caught two touchdown passes as Stanford coasted to a 43-3 rout of San Jose State in the season opener for both teams.
A 6-7 sophomore, Moore was a reserve on the Cardinal basketball team last season. He made his mark on the football field in this one, with TD receptions of 30 and 22 yards in the first half.
Trent Edwards went an efficient 14-of-22 for 187 yards for the Cardinal, who have won the last four meetings from the Spartans by a lopsided 178-53 margin.
Kenneth Tolon added 96 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Stanford.
Jeff Carr kicked a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter for San Jose State.
