RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- North Carolina State is developing a flair for the dramatic.

T.A. McLendon's second touchdown run of the game, an eight-yarder in overtime, lifted the Wolfpack to a 27-21 victory over Wake Forest in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup.

After Wake Forest missed a 35-yard field goal to start overtime, McLendon ran the ball on four straight plays, including the game-winning TD. He finished with 139 yards on 30 carries.

North Carolina State (3-1, 2-0 ACC) edged Virginia Tech, 17-16, last week and trailed 14-0 at the half in this one before coming alive in the third quarter.

Jay Davis, who completed 16-of-21 passes for 228 yards, hit Sterling Hicks with a 57-yard scoring strike less than two minutes into the second half and McLendon scored from three yards out to tie the game, 14-14. Bobby Washington gave the Wolfpack their first lead, 21-14, with a two-yard TD run with a minute left in the third quarter.

The Demon Deacons tied the game with nine minutes remaining on a one-yard TD run by Micah Andrews, his second TD of the game.

Wake Forest (3-2, 1-2) took a 7-0 lead on a 22-yard interception return by Marcus McGruder with two minutes left in the opening quarter. Andrews' first TD, a one-yard run with 10:35 left in the first half gave the Demon Deacons a two TD edge.
