SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Alexis Serna kicked five field goals and Derek Anderson threw for 286 yards as Oregon State scored 20 unanswered points to defeat Washington, 29-14, in a Pac-10 Conference matchup.
The Beavers (2-4, 1-2 Pac-10) forced seven turnovers in chalking up their first victory at Washington since 1985.
Washington (1-5, 0-3) took a 14-9 lead early in the third quarter when Isaiah Stanback hit Joe Toledo on a 24-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the second half. Stanback, who was 11-of-29 for 219 yards, also found Quinten Daniels on a 23-yard score in the first half.
Oregon State came right back on the next possession when Dwight Wright burst through the line for a 55-yard TD, part of a 99-yard rushing performance, to put the Beavers up for good, 16-14.
Later in the third, Anderson found Marcel Love for an 11-yard touchdown to cap a 10-play, 73-yard drive. Anderson completed 26-of-40 passes and is 36 yards away from tying Erik Wilhelm for second place in career passing yardage at Oregon State.
Fullback James Sims committed two fumbles inside the Oregon State 10 that cost the Huskies a pair of scoring opportunities. Safety Sabby Piscitelli recovered the first fumble in the second quarter and defensive end Joe Rudulph covered up the second late in the third period.
Despite the loss, Washington leads the overall series, 57-28-4.
