LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -
Michael Desormeaux
threw for 253 yards and ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a 44-27 win against Kent State
on Saturday night.
Tyrell Fenroy
added 194 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 23 carries for the Ragin' Cajuns (1-2).
Louisiana-Lafayette outgained Kent State 667-396 in the game.
Edelman's 11-yard touchdown run started the scoring, but a field goal and Fenroy's 5-yard touchdown run gave the Ragin' Cajuns
a 10-7 lead at the close of the first quarter. Edelman's 42-yard touchdown pass to
Shawn Bayes
once again gave the
Golden Flashes
a short-lived lead, as Desormeaux's 5-yard rushing score and Fenroy's 69-yard touchdown scamper put Louisiana-Lafayette on
top 23-14 at halftime.
A 6-yard Edelman touchdown run made it 23-21 at 11:07 in the third, but Desormeaux's 55-yard scoring pass to
Ladarius Green
and Fenroy's 1-yard scoring rush highlighted a span of three-straight Louisiana-Lafayette touchdowns that sealed the game
early in the fourth quarter.
Julian Edelman
ran for 136 yards and two touchdowns, while also passing for 81 yards with one touchdown and one interception for the
Golden Flashes
(1-3).
