LOGAN, Utah (AP) -
ran for 123 yards on 15 carries and scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to lead Utah State over Idaho 42-17 Saturday.
The Aggies (1-3, 1-0 Western Athletic Conference) scored three times in the fourth quarter, first on a fumble recovery in
the end zone by defensive end
with 12 minutes remaining in the game. Idaho (1-3, 0-1 WAC) quarterback
had dropped the ball after taking a hit from Aggie
intercepted an Enderle pass with 8:11 remaining on a fourth-down attempt by Idaho. On the next play,
took a pitch from quarterback
and scampered 41 yards for a score.
Sophomore Borel made his first career start at quarterback for Utah State, logging 97 yards rushing and 191 yards passing
and going 12-of-21 with one touchdown.
The Aggies took its first lead of the game, 21-17, on a 15-yard pass from Borel to tight end
with 34 seconds remaining in the third quarter. The touchdown was set up by a 49-yard run by Turbin, USU's longest run of
the season. Turbin scored on a 26-yard run with 1:08 remaining in the game.
Idaho scored first in the game on a 11-yard pass from Enderle to
at 6:08 in the first quarter. The Vandals scored twice in the third quarter after a 7-7 halftime score.
Utah State missed a 23-yard field goal in the second quarter when
's attempt was tipped at the line and hit the goal post.
USU gained 580 yards of offense in the game, 280 in the first half while holding Idaho to 271 total yards. The Aggies had
been averaging only 245 yards per game on the season prior to Saturday.
Enderle ended the game with 161 yards on 20-35 passing.
