ran for 106 yards and two scores in Central Michigan's 38-28 win over Western Michigan on Saturday.
Brunner outdueled Broncos quarterback
Tim Hiller
, who set a school record and a Kelly/Shorts Stadium record with 471 yards passing. Hiller was 38-for-53 with two touchdowns.
Central Michigan (5-2, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) and Western Michigan (6-2, 4-1) combined for 1,044 yards of offense.
Brunner started in place of 2007 MAC Player of the Year
Dan LeFevour
, who was a late scratch because of an ankle injury suffered last weekend against Temple. Brunner came on in the second quarter
of that game and led the Chippewas to a 24-14 victory.
Central went ahead to stay, 28-21, on receiver

's 2-yard TD pass to tight end

Brandon West
carried 18 times for 53 yards and two touchdowns for Western, while Brown finished with 10 catches for 113 yards.
