(1-8, 1-4 Sun Belt Conference) snapped a nine-game losing streak, which was the longest in the country. Washington's 10 straight
losses is now the longest.
This was North Texas' first win on the road in 22 games since defeating Louisiana-Lafayette 16-7 in 2006.
Vizza completed 23 of 37 passes for 214 yards, and
added 131 yards and a score on 21 carries for the
(1-8, 1-4 Sun Belt Conference).
rushed for 190 yards and two scores on 21 carries for the Hilltoppers (2-7, 0-2).
Western Kentucky outgained North Texas 504-387, but the
capitalized on turnovers, including a 99-yard interception return for a score in the game's final seconds.
The teams combined to throw four interceptions and gave up eight plays of 20 yards or more.
A total of 35 points were scored in the game's first nine minutes, and the teams combined for 21 points in a span of 44 seconds
in the third quarter.
