GE and Time Warner to form new pro football league

ATLANTA (CNN/SI) -- GE and Time Warner announced Wednesday night that NBC and Turner Broadcasting are moving toward the creation of a new professional football league.

"We have agreed upon a clear vision of a working model and have appointed Dick Ebersol and Harvey Schiller of Turner Broadcasting to spearhead this effort," the companies said in a release. "Both parties anticipate a complete announcement this fall."
