CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago's XFL franchise will be known as the Enforcers, league officials announced Thursday.

Enforcers head coach and Hall of Fame linebacker, Dick Butkus, held the team's black helmet over his head, the logo a large "C" with a fist ramming outward through the opening.

"The color is bruise," Butkus said. "It's black and blue."

While the colors appear to be more black and purple, no one at the news conference took issue.

The first-time coach said there were some parameters in choosing a name for the new team.

"We agreed that we're not going to have any animals and nothing that flies," Butkus said.

The Enforcers have already secured Chicago's Soldier Field for home games and will finalize an agreement to put the club's headquarters there in September, according to Ken Valdiserri, Enforcers vice president and general manager.

The date of the first home game has yet to be determined. The league will begin play Feb. 3, league officials said.

The league aims to attract the same young male fans as the World Wrestling Federation. It will feature helmet cameras, microphones in huddles, bonuses for winning, no fair catches on punts and a play clock reduced to 35 seconds.
