St. Louis head coach Mike Martz has lobbied Sports Illustrated's Peter King for an MVP vote to be cast for Rams QB Kurt Warner: Asks Martz: "Is anyone more deserving of the MVP than Kurt?"

Meanwhile, SI's Don Banks says the running order -- with two weeks remaining -- is Green Bay's Brett Favre, Warner and Pittsburgh's Kordell Stewart.

Here's an alphabetical look at some of the candidates for 2001 NFL MVP. Check the numbers, then see what other users had to say.

  • QB Tom Brady, New England (10-5): Ranks second in the AFC with a 64.3 completion percentage, and second in conference with an 88.3 passer rating.

  • RB Marshall Faulk, St. Louis (12-2): Leads the league with 16 touchdowns, and ranks fifth in the NFC with 1,096 rushing yards.

  • QB Brett Favre, Green Bay (10-4): Tied for first in the NFL with 30 TD passes, second in NFC with 94.1 passer rating and third in the conference with 3,439 passing yards.

  • QB Rich Gannon, Oakland (10-4): Leads the AFC with a 97.4 passer rating, ties for the AFC lead with 24 TD passes, and ranks third in the conference with 3,291 passing yards.

  • QB Jeff Garcia, San Francisco (11-3): Ranks second in the NFL with 26 TD passes, and is third in the NFC with a 91.1 passer rating.

  • RB Curtis Martin, N.Y. Jets (9-5): Ranks second in the NFL with 1,340 rushing yards, and ties for second in the league with 10 rushing TDs.

  • WR Terrell Owens, San Francisco (11-3): Leads the NFL with 14 receiving TDs, ranks third in the NFC with 86 catches and fifth in the conference with 1,203 receiving yards.

  • QB Kordell Stewart, Pittsburgh (12-2): Has the fewest interceptions (5) of any starting QB, and is fourth in the AFC with an 86.8 passer rating. Has also has rushed for 499 yards and five TDs.

  • LB Brian Urlacher, Chicago (11-3): Has 84 tackles, 23 assists, 5.0 sacks, four passes defensed, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one TD.

  • QB Kurt Warner, St. Louis (12-2): Tied for first in the NFL with 30 TD passes, and 4,191 passing yards. Leads the NFC with a 99.2 passer rating, and tops the NFL with a 67.3 completion percentage.
