RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. (AP) -- Baltimore Ravens owner Art Modell was released from the hospital Wednesday after suffering a mild heart attack last week at his California vacation home.

The 76-year-old Modell was expected to return to Baltimore, where he would be admitted to Johns Hopkins University Medical Center for additional testing, said Mary Kay Plock, a spokeswoman for the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage.

Modell has a history of heart problems. He underwent an emergency quadruple bypass operation after a heart attack in 1983. Seven years later, he had double bypass coronary surgery.

Modell, who completed his 41st season in the NFL, was one of 15 finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame two months ago but was not elected. He moved the team from Cleveland to Baltimore after the 1995 season.
