Safety net Bachelorette could affect Sutter's interest in CFLPosted: Wednesday February 19, 2003 3:41 PMATLANTA (SI.com) -- Trista Rehn's final choice on the Bachelorette could affect whether Brendan Taman gets his man. Taman, a vice president with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, will speak with Ryan Sutter's agent next week as the team gauges interest in the Bachelorette finalist. Sutter is a Vail, Colo., firefighter who wants to play in the CFL. Sutter played strong safety for the University of Colorado and was drafted in the fifth round (133rd overall) by the Baltimore Ravens in 1998. He was waived during training camp that year. While Sutter bounced around the football world, he survived the cut five times on The Bachelorette prior to Wednesday night's finale. However, Sutter isn't the only one of the 25 Bachelorette contestants with ties to Canadian football. Jeff Popovich, who survived the first cut on the show but was axed the next week, signed with the Montreal Alouettes last month.
