Two Broncos arrested Gardener, Newman involved in altercationPosted: Saturday July 19, 2003 1:45 AMUpdated: Saturday July 19, 2003 2:15 AM AURORA, Colo. (AP) -- Two Denver Broncos were arrested after an altercation on Friday with another customer at a restaurant, police said. Defensive tackles Russell Newman and Daryl Gardener were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after the 2:35 a.m. incident at an IHOP restaurant, police spokesman Dan Mark said. They were booked and released on personal recognizance bonds. An argument inside the restaurant over a long wait to be seated spilled out into the parking lot, according to a police report. Team spokesman Jim Saccomano said he was not aware of the incident. Gardener joined the Broncos in March after starting 15 games last year for the Washington Redskins. Newman was signed by the team in January. The Philadelphia Eagles released him last year during training camp. |
