Taylor had no flaws as a player

In the end it was what Lawrence Taylor did on the field that mattered to Hall of Fame voters. The linebacker, troubled by problems in his personal life, was a first-ballot choice this year, voted into the Canton, Ohio, shrine along with Eric Dickerson, Tom Mack, Ozzie Newsome and old-timer Billy Shaw.
