He has shot up a lot of NFL draft boards in the second half of the '98 season. He is really a big DC in a DS body. He has outstanding overall size and strength for the position and he shows good cover skills and excellent run support. He has excellent range and open field tackling ability and some NFL teams actually see him as a free safety. However, his cover skills are certainly good enough to play at DC and he is an excellent matchup guy against the new trend of big physical WRs in the NFL. Like Bailey, he has some history at WR and he can also contribute as a return specialist, especially on KOR. He has good speed and smooth hips and is a real fluid athlete. There is a slight knock on him that he tends to get lazy and is not always the most coachable guy in the world, but he will really have to "turn off" coaches and scouts leading up to the draft to lower his draft status. In today's NFL, he is the proto-type of the big physical DC that teams are looking for.
