He is in one of the biggest freefalls in draft history, as a year ago he looked like a top 5 pick, but now NFL teams seem to be shying away from him. He suffered through a very sluggish '98 season, didn't seem to be in great shape and didn't play with the instincts and savviness as he did earlier in his career. He is not a real big and physical DC and although he will come up and make a tackle, run support is certainly not his strength. He has good, but not great deep speed, but he does have fluid movements, is smooth in his hips and turns and can close on the ball. For some reason he got beaten deep more in '98 than he had earlier in his career and he did not play with the same instinctiveness and "feel" that he had previously. As a result, he did not play with the same cockiness or confidence that he had which is a trait that all great DCs have. He is probably a guy that should have returned for his senior year and he will be under the NFL draft microscope leading up to the draft.
